High-Quality Products for Your Skin

Importance of Lotion

Healthy skin is of utmost importance for acquiring a dark tan. Indoor atanning products are specially formulated to provide the skin with vital moisture that is necessary before tanning and also after tanning. Healthier skin has the capacity to hold on to a tan for a longer period of time than unhealthy skin.

Tanning lotions offer a refractive prism of natural oils including sunflower oil and hemp seed oil as well as aromatherapy essential oils and aloe-vera gel. The refractive prism causes a magnification of the ultraviolet light that reaches your skin, helping your tan to get intensified. Given the same amount of time, people who avoid using tanning products are likely to achieve a lower level of tanning as compared to people who used the product.

Dry skin on the other hand tends to flake, peeling away layers of tan with it. Tanning lotions keep your skin constantly moisturized, which is essential during the tanning process if you are serious about achieving deep color. People who do not use tanning lotions and other sunless tanning products do not get the valuable benefits that these nutrients offer.

Types of Lotion

An accelerator lotion is a type of tanning lotion that contains natural enzymes that will stimulate and increase the production of melanin, which is the enzyme in the body that creates a tan. They deliver nutrients and essential minerals for your skin to hold moisture. These lotions are also referd to as Maximizers.

There are two different types of bronzers:

Cosmetic Bronzer – This is a bronzer that acts much like a make-up, giving you immediate color once applied, allowing your natural tan to develop over the next few hours. The bronzer  will ultimately wash off.

DHA Bronzer – DHA is a colorless chemical that is found in self-tanners. DHA is also found in many indoor tanning lotions. DHA, when applied to your skin will start to turn your skin brown  in about 2-3 hours.

Both types of bronzers are very effective in helping you achieve your dark deep and best looking tan.

Tingle lotions will make your skin temporarily red and make you feel a tingling sensation. In a tingle lotion an ingredient of benzyl or methyl nicotinate is added to the lotion. This results in a reddening and warming, or "tingle" effect, as a result of increased microcirculation – opening of the blood vessels – in the epidermis layer of the skin, increasing blood flow and oxygenation of the skin cells. This oxygenation also aids in the delivery of required nutrients throughout the skin, speeding up the skin's natural growth and maintenance processes. The more oxygen your skin gets during tanning, the better your results. This feeling is temporary and usually subsides within an hour or so.  The redness of your skin is not a burn.  It is a “heat” flush.  The redness will disappear when your skin cools down.
